ABOUT MGM

The Mahatma Gandhi Trust was established on 20th December 1982, with the futuristic vision to provide qualitative education and focuses on health care services. The aims and objectives of the trust are to contribute towards fulfillment to the task initiated by Mahatma Gandhi and based on its principle that “Literacy education is of no value if it is not able to build up sound character. Since beginning the Trust has focused on providing health care services. The basic vocation of the trust is providing service to society at the grass root level along with education. The trust was established in Nanded and extended its services to Aurangabad, Navi Mumbai, Parbhani in Maharashtra and Noida (Delhi NCR) in Uttar Pradesh. A chain of schools, Engineering, Architecture, Medical, Nursing, Management, Computer Science and IT, Bioinformatics and Biotechnology, Fine Arts and Journalism stand testimony to the endeavors of the trust. The MGM has been instrumental in promoting Classical Dance and Music for art seekers. The Trust has also paid heed to the aspect of physical fitness by converting vast expanses of land into a sports complex with multiple amenities and sports equipments. MGM’s lush green and serene campuses are conducive to create a peaceful learning atmosphere.

ABOUT MGM SPORTS CLUB AND STADIUM

After a long and exhausted schedule what one needs is a break, a break from the daily hustle and bustle of the busy life, a break to relax and meditate a break to feel what is left out in the hectic schedule of the studies. MGM Sports and Health Club provides the Members with astounding health, nutrition and fitness facilities that would help them revive their long lost vigor and eradicate their fitness woes. The club facilities are exclusively designed with a wide range of fun and effective fitness activities to reconnect the mind, body and spirit of all age groups. Initiated under the trust of ‘Mahatma Gandhi Mission’ and following the principles of Mahatma Gandhi, MGM Sports Club and Stadium offers complete - health care and fitness solutions along with the complete piece of mind to its members. Sports Club is spread in total area of around 4500 Sq. Our facilities help the professionals reduce their absenteeism and increase productivity. Here members are also helped to manage their stress and increase their potential capabilities.

ACHIEVEMENTS

• Efforts for GREEN AURANGABAD have been lauded by the United Nations and the Trust Secretary, Mr. Ankushrao Kadam has also been awaraded and felicitated by the UN for the Environment Friendly Approach.
• MGM has established AIDS Research Centre in collaboration with Texas University, USA, with all latest equipments for diagnosis, treatment and research. It also has academic linkages with ICMR and AIIMS, New Delhi.
• MGM offers distance education programs in collaboration with IIT, Mumbai, wherein online interactive lectures of experts from IT are arranged through satelite linkage.
• An agreement for academic collaboration with Indo-German Tool Rooms has been for signed giving our students exposure to modern manufacturing machines and high end softwares.
• An agreement for academic collaboration with Pittsburg State University, USA, has been signed.
• MGM has established MAHAGAMI at Aurangabad based on the ancient Guru Shishya Parampara for promotion, dissemination, research and training of arts.
• Centre for Astronomy and Space Technology has been established for the students to pursue their hobby for chasing and observing the spatial objects in the galaxy. This has been ougmented with weather monitoring and forecasting facility. Students also undertake projects related to the field.
• Training collaboration with IBM, Oracle and Microsoft.
• Till date MGM has sponsored more than 25 faculty members for their doctoral work and more than 150 for post-graduation.
• MGM liberally sends its faculty members to attend national and international conferences and seminars, to keep the faculty abreast with the latest technological advancement.
• MGM proudly mentions 25 awards and honors along with more than 600 paper publications, by faculty at national and international levels. Many players have won the prizes in inter-university and national level competitions in individual and team events.

MEDICAL EDICATION

• Medical colleges have state of the art fodlities, for under graduate and post graduate facility with exclusive health caro services like emergency monogoment system, fertility and test-tube baby center, advanced endoscopy and lopcoscopy eye core center.
• More than 60,000 people from tribal and rural areas of Marothwodo hove been treated free of cost.
• Mother NGO status has been awarded by the Health Ministry of India.
• Recently we have been awarded University Status by University Grants Commission and HRD Ministry for 2 medical colleges under Section 3 of UGC Act. Thus, MGM University of Health Sciences hos come into existence ond the University has framed its own Rules ond Regulations for its functioning in keeping with the objectives of the institution.

ENVIRONMENT

• Environment remains a key issue of concern of all campuses of MGM. The geenery maintained speaks about it. Shri. A. N. Kadam, Secretary, Mahatma Gandhi Mission, has been awarded international environment award by world environmental congress at the hands of Ex-President Late Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma in 1997.

• All the 3 engineering colleges of MGM in Maharashtra have boon accredited by National Board of Accreditation, Now Delhi MGM has signed MOU with University of Mysore for establishing Outreach Center of Genetics.
